My book is going to be in the Hollywood film Anesthesia

One of my books is headed to the big screen sometime in the not too distant future. Romy’s Garden Adventures: Christmas City is going to star as a background prop in the upcoming film Anesthesia - written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson.

The film stars Hollywood heavyweights Glenn Close, Kristen Stewart, Gretchen Mol and Jessica Hecht just to name a few. The plot focuses on intersecting relationships after the violent mugging of a university professor. So, in many ways, the film plot parallels Romy’s Christmas tale. However, in many more ways, it doesn’t.

Still, it makes me laugh to think that there is a chance that any one of those Hollywood stars possibly picked up my book on set, flipped through it and thought to themselves “What in the actual fuck is this piece of shit children’s book doing on the set of this awesome movie?”

Regardless of what their opinions may be of my flailed attempts at creatively expressing myself, it is an extreme honour for me to have a simple children's book I wrote immortalised on the big screen alongside some people I massively admire.

And may I just say, if you are reading this, and you are a film Producer, Director or just someone who manages props on set or whatever, I just want to state here and now, that you have 100% all my permission to use any of my books in the background of any of your films in the future. ESPECIALLY if Kristen Stewart is starring in it. Yehw!

The film is scheduled for release sometime before the end of the year. Here’s some pics of my book in action. She is a natural talent ;)

Book Release Update

My first ever full length children’s book (that I have poured blood, sweat and tears into over the last several years) will be available from this website on 2 September 2013. Throw this date into your calendar.

Funny to think it has taken me this long to spit out 10,000 or so words. I promise that the next book release will come a lot sooner than this one. I have learnt so much about storyboarding ideas and time management.

Fairy Floss For Brains

A short children's story by Rob Towner

Old man Jeremy Dinkin was one of the happiest old people who ever lived. You want to know why? It’s because he had fairy floss for brains. It all happened twenty years ago during an operation on his head. His brain fell out on to the floor and the doctor accidentally mistook it for the big ball of pink fairy floss he was eating at the time. It was an easy mistake to make. You or I would have probably done the same.
